Springtime

As I dove into using different kinds of traditional mediums, I wanted to hone my watercolor skills with a piece I could showcase my use of wet on wet techniques. To make her shirt and hair look soaked, I used lots of translucent washes of color to build up subtle darker hues in the areas that were wet. Her bright red lipstick and emerald green eyes are reminiscent of springtime, as if she had been caught in a spring rainstorm.
